In an apartment building the door phone is a shared system for everyone: an entrance panel with a button for each flat and a device in every home.
With the Comelit 2-wire BUS system, each flat chooses a video monitor with camera or a simple audio door phone, and the change is made on the existing wiring.
What an apartment building system includes

Entrance panel
ULTRA is built from modules: an audio/video module, push-button modules with up to 8 calls each and a frame for 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 modules. For 1 to 4 calls there is also QUADRA.

A device in every flat
A video monitor with colour screen or a simple audio door phone without a screen, with handset or hands-free.

Power supply
33 VDC power supply unit with electronic overload and short-circuit protection, for 2-wire BUS systems.

Large buildings
The ULTRA switcher is used when the building has more than one entrance. The BUS line distributor splits the signal from 1 to 4 risers.
Video monitor or audio door phone in each flat
Comelit has a mixed system: in the same building some flats install video door entry and others a simple audio door phone, regardless of what the others choose.
See the BUS video monitors and the BUS audio door phones. For a house or a single flat, see the page about the door phone with camera.
Replacing an old door phone in an apartment building
The BUS system needs only 2 wires in good condition from the existing installation. So the change from an old door phone to video door entry is made without rewiring the whole building.
If you have an older Comelit device, see the older systems and ask us about availability, repair or replacement.
Entry with code or card
A numeric keypad module or a module with an RFID reader for Comelit keys and cards can be added to the ULTRA entrance panel.
- The keypad accepts permanent codes, codes valid on a set date or for a set number of uses, and logs up to 1,270 events.
- The RFID reader stores up to 1,500 electronic keys.
- ULTRA TOUCH has a built-in numeric keypad and RFID.

- Which entrance panel will be installed and with which modules.
- How many flats will have video and how many an audio door phone.
- The condition of the existing wiring.
- Whether there will be entry with a code or card.

Frequently asked questions
How many flats can one entrance panel cover?
It depends on the series. QUADRA covers 1 to 4 calls. On ULTRA each push-button module takes up to 8 calls and the frames hold 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 modules. ULTRA TOUCH calls from a 5-inch touch screen, with virtual buttons or a numeric keypad.
Can one flat have a simple audio door phone while the others have video?
Yes. In the Comelit mixed system each flat chooses a video monitor or an audio door phone, independently of the others.
Is new wiring needed to replace the door phones with video door entry?
With the Comelit BUS system 2 wires in good condition from the existing installation are enough, so the change is made on the wires that are already there.
What if the building has two entrances?
For more than one entrance, the ULTRA audio/video switcher is used, powered by the BUS line.
Can residents answer from their mobile?
Yes, those who choose a video monitor with WiFi, such as the Mini HF WiFi or the PEOPLE WiFi for BUS systems. Calls are managed from the Comelit app.
Who carries out the installation in an apartment building?
Installation is carried out by authorised Comelit partners. Find the nearest one on the partner map.
